Behind Your Day Maps the Work Behind a Purchase
A browser-based calculator estimates how much global supply-chain work time is distributed across an everyday purchase.
Field notes
The calculator uses two layers of classification: eight broad life areas followed by 28 more specific items. It factors in the consumption country, currency, category, and amount, then distributes the result among industries and regions. The site explicitly distinguishes supply-chain allocation from identifying a real worker or occupation. Saved entries can be compared by day, week, month, or all time, and each entry preserves the estimate associated with the model version used at saving.
