Inspect Mesh: A Small Toolkit for STL Reality Checks
A free browser-based set of tools for checking, measuring, scaling, and estimating material needs for STL files.
Field notes
The toolkit divides common STL preparation work into four explicit paths: mesh-quality checks, manifold topology, dimensions and scaling, and volume calculation. Its checks name concrete failure modes such as open edges, duplicate triangles, orientation issues, and separate shells rather than treating “quality” as a single score. The dimensions workflow also accounts for unit conversion and printer build-volume fit, while the volume tool pairs a model’s volume with an approximate material-weight estimate. STL is the only supported format identified on the homepage.
