An open-source JAX package for GPU micromagnetic simulations, with finite-difference and finite-element solvers and gradients for inverse design.

Landing page captured for the 2026-08-24 issue.

Field notes

The package exposes both regular-grid FFT and tetrahedral P1 finite-element workflows, with jaxFMM used for fast-multipole demagnetisation in curved geometries. Its differentiable JAX implementation is aimed at inverse problems as well as forward simulation, and the page includes a concrete skyrmion quickstart using a 100 nm × 100 nm × 2 nm mesh. Validation examples include muMAG SP4 and the Cortés-Ortuño DMI standard problem.
