Pfotenwetter: Weather Radar for the Dog-Walking Window

Pfotenwetter bases its short-range view on Deutscher Wetterdienst precipitation radar, refreshed at five-minute intervals with a two-hour horizon. It converts that data into four walk-oriented measures—paws, ticks, mud, and ice—and describes configurable alerts for approaching rain and later dry periods. The page also documents a deliberate limitation: areas outside reliable radar coverage are rendered as gaps rather than interpreted as dry. Data sources and the non-official status of calculated values are named on the page.
