STATUS describes a two-stage system: device-side signals suggest that a moment may be worth sharing, then the person chooses a small update from options such as Heading Home or Running Errands. Its examples separate private context from what reaches a partner, and explicitly exclude coordinates, routes, and history from shared status. The page also uses estimates framed as non-commitments, including “Probably home around 10:30,” making uncertainty part of the product’s communication model rather than something it hides.
