Lastre, the disk report that refuses to be a cleaner
A free, open-source Mac app that explains what is consuming disk space, where it came from, and when it was last used.
Field notes
Lastre organizes disk contents by size but adds context from several sources instead of treating every large item as disposable. Its examples connect an 8.8 GB iOS simulator runtime to the minimum versions used by five of six projects, identify a node_modules folder through repository history, and trace a downloaded disk image to its originating domain. The page says users remain responsible for acting: commands are shown rather than run, and deletion is limited to the Trash.
