AI Chessathon: Put Your Agent on the Board
A UK chess-engineering competition where participants build agents, qualify through online matches, and compete for a place in a London final.
Field notes
The competition uses five days of online agent matches before selecting 50 finalists by ELO for a London event at Encode Club. Its homepage includes a compact agent.py example: a material-and-center evaluation function feeds a depth-limited alpha-beta search, with search depth reduced when the clock falls below 90. Three board panels make the intended match format legible, while the registration flow asks about background, links, and team status.
