psst.now makes pictures you have to scratch open
A link-making tool that hides parts of an image behind a tactile scratch-off layer, with voice playback tied to the recipient’s hand.
Field notes
Creators upload a picture or video, mark one or more areas to conceal, and can attach a separate sound to each zone. The recipient opens a browser link and drags across the cover; audio follows the movement, pauses during a brief rest, and resumes rather than restarting. The page says the original stays on the server while exposed versions are copies with the concealed areas burned in, and offers three treatments: foil, wax-like lacquer, and graphite.
