SayWha: Dictation With a Closed Door

saywha.dev Observed source

A push-to-talk dictation app for Mac that turns spoken words into cleaned-up text at the cursor.

Landing page captured for the 2026-08-29 issue.

Field notes

SayWha uses a push-to-talk workflow rather than always-on listening: a key press opens a temporary listening state, and releasing it sends cleaned text to the active cursor. The homepage says processing occurs locally, works offline, and leaves the result on the clipboard as a backup. The available build is beta version 0.1.2 for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 26 or later; a visual screenshot is listed as forthcoming.
