The optimizer models a play as both a rack and a board pattern: users can cycle each square through five multiplier states and enter letters already occupying the board. It then searches either an approximately 178,000-word tournament list or an approximately 9,800-word everyday list, applying letter multipliers, word multipliers, existing tiles, and the seven-tile bonus before ranking plays. The page says rack and board entries remain in the browser rather than being sent to a server.
