The Shire of Nearenough, Where Every Form Has Another Form
A fictional local-government website for a place somewhere between a good idea and the turnoff you were looking for.
Field notes
The site builds its fictional council through familiar information architecture: service categories, notices, agendas, minutes, consultations and a strategic plan. Its procedural details carry much of the world-building, from the requirement to avoid “general” on a triage form to the question of whether ducks count as residents or stakeholders. The Crooked Carrot provides a recurring civic mascot and a local principle: “Not everything needs to be straight to belong here.”
