Pulse & Perimeter: Monitoring for Jobs and Infrastructure
A two-part monitoring service that watches cron jobs, backups, and CI pipelines while auditing DNS, SSL certificates, SPF, and DMARC.
Field notes
Pulse uses a dead-man's-switch model: a task sends a URL ping when it finishes, and the service alerts when that ping fails to arrive within the configured interval and grace period. The page specifies a 10-second minimum interval and a LATE / DOWN state machine. Its Perimeter service adds checks for certificate expiry, trust chains, TLS versions, SPF syntax, DMARC enforcement, and DNS changes, with the free plan limited to five monitors and three domains.
