The Stoneworker Map
A Japanese database of 52,955 businesses holding a stonework-construction permit across 29 prefectures and 1,080 municipalities.
Field notes
The directory is assembled from construction-permit lists published by prefectural governments, then grouped by prefecture and municipality. Its classification adds signals from business names, permit categories, and manual reading of company websites: among 144 readable sites, tombstones appeared on 121, while garden stone appeared on 24 and interior stone on 22. The figures exclude national-government permit holders and businesses operating without the listed permit.
