Energese Gives Odum’s Strange Symbols a ggplot2 Vocabulary
An R package that turns all ten canonical symbols from H.T. Odum’s Energy Systems Language into composable ggplot2 layers.
Field notes
The package maps ten canonical Energy Systems Language symbols into named ggplot2 layers, with ordinary aesthetics such as x, y, fill, colour, alpha, and linewidth plus width, height, or radius controls. A supplied plot_energese_reference() function reproduces the full symbol chart, while the example composes a solar-food-web sequence containing sources, flows, storages, consumers, producers, switches, self-limiters, heat sinks, and transactions. Polygon-coordinate helpers support users who need lower-level custom diagrams.
