Kin uses Apple Contacts as its underlying address book while keeping its own notes, tags, links, and timeline in a local JSON file. Its central interaction is a global ⌃K launcher: fuzzy-search a person, then use numbered shortcuts to message, call, email, open LinkedIn, or log a note. The page says three letters are usually enough to find someone and identifies version 2.1.27 for macOS 15 or later, with optional AI disabled by default.
