A browser-based tool that turns English or Japanese audio from videos, livestreams, podcasts, and meetings into live translated subtitles.

Landing page captured for the 2026-09-10 issue.

Field notes

LiveSub captures audio from a shared Chrome or Edge tab, then places the transcription and translation in a separate subtitle view or movable always-on-top window. Its controls distinguish live broadcasts from recorded material and include a glossary for recurring names such as “Fable” and “Fable 5.1.” The page also offers transcript downloads with elapsed-time markers and says the initial speech-recognition package is 73MB, with an approximately 238MB recorded-video package.
