Artisanats du Mexique: objets, techniques et provenances
A French-language reference project documenting Mexican crafts, their materials, techniques, makers, places, and uncertain provenance.
Field notes
The project uses category guides and a printable worksheet to move from an object’s visible features toward documented provenance. Its examples include Talavera, barro negro, barro bruñido, rebozo, huipil, sarape, tenango, and Wixárika beadwork. The worksheet records announced designation, material, author, and locality separately, while the editorial method warns that a general notice about Oaxaca sculptures cannot by itself identify a particular object. The site also keeps source limitations visible rather than treating a familiar motif as proof of origin.
