deadair: a self-hosted AI radio station
An MIT-licensed station that chooses records, writes and voices presenter breaks, and streams one shared broadcast without per-listener shuffling.
Field notes
The station maintains a forward lineup several hours deep, and each record and presenter break carries state that can be inspected or edited. Before audio reaches air, the system checks that a model-generated break has acceptable timing and sourced claims; rejected attempts remain visible with their reasons. Its audio sidecar measures cue points and loudness, while presenter characters retain a notebook of prior remarks and developing traits. The project is presented as self-hosted, MIT licensed, and usable with a local model, hosted model, or no model.
