Fruit Fly Simulator
An interactive research experiment that lets you observe a modeled fruit fly moving, sensing, feeding, grooming, and sleeping inside a three-dimensional room.
Field notes
The simulation combines a MaleCNS v1.0 optic-lobe reconstruction from Janelia FlyEM with a NeuroMechFly/flygym body model, then places the result in a shared three-dimensional kitchen. Its behavior is driven by environmental and internal signals: the antennae smell food and cVA, the tarsi taste sugar and water, the arista reads temperature, and hunger acts through AKH and octopamine. The interface exposes room controls, sensory readouts, and a behavior score rather than presenting a prerecorded animation.
