Nombook, a Private Cookbook That Keeps a Cooking Diary

Nombook stores a personal cookbook on the iPhone, with optional private iCloud Sync rather than a Nombook server. Recipes can be entered from handwriting, cookbook photos, pasted text, or links, then used in an awake-screen cooking mode with step timers. The diary layer records each cooking attempt with a star rating, note, and outcome photos. It also turns planned meals into shopping lists and can search for dishes based on ingredients available in the fridge.
