OpenMHP describes a protocol layer that lets an agent discover instruments, load owner-written operating instructions, rehearse a procedure, and request confirmation before execution. The homepage gives a concrete PCR example and says safety constraints such as temperature caps, lid requirements, and human-confirmation flags are enforced by the driver. It also lists adapters for SiLA 2, PyLabRobot, MADSci, OPC UA, and ROS 2, plus simulated instruments for trying procedures without connected hardware.
