Vellum Code, the agent that shows its work
A local-first desktop app and CLI that edits repositories, verifies changes, and keeps the agent’s work visible.
Field notes
The application combines a standalone desktop interface with a CLI built on the same engine, rather than extending an existing editor. Its review surface separates staged and unstaged changes and supports per-hunk stage, unstage, and discard actions. The page also describes encrypted local key storage, metadata-only outbound auditing, a keyless semantic-search fallback, and compatibility with local Ollama daemons. A local-only mode is presented as an available control for restricting network egress.
