Combgnat: a fruit-fly brain–machine playlist bench
An interactive browser experiment lets a reduced Drosophila neural model sample audio and choose the next track in a local playlist.
Field notes
Combgnat maps audio energy into time-frequency cells before passing those cells through a deliberately reduced 24-unit leaky integrate-and-fire model. The page names the modeled pathways—DNa02 steers frequency, DNa01 advances time, and MDN steps the eye backward—then uses a DNp09-like burst to choose the next local clip. Its biological reference point is explicitly contextual: the cited FlyEM counts are not represented as a whole-fly runtime simulation.
