Local Legends uses the standard backyard-ultra constraint of a 5K departure every hour, but presents it with unusually low overhead: no registration, chip timing, or online fees. Participants declare a lap goal, bring cash in small bills, and pay more only if they continue. The page also accounts for the practical texture of a long race, including crew stations, spare shoes, night lighting, food, layers, and a limited aid station.
