Mosquito Circuit: A Moth–Machine Interface
A technical demonstrator that translates archived Manduca sexta voltage data into simulated computer selections and pointer clicks.
Field notes
The demonstrator uses a conditioned, differential readout of moth-derived biopotentials and maps transient amplitude into either a ternary selection or a single pointer activation. Its archived 900-second record contains 4,500 reporting intervals, with a medium event assigned to state 02 at 236 seconds and a high event converted into one click at 662 seconds. The page also preserves unavailable portions of the trace instead of interpolating them, and explicitly labels the transmission as replay rather than live biological measurement.
