OpenXC: Race Timing Without Spreadsheet Chaos
An open-source, self-hosted system for running cross-country meets, from rosters and RFID acquisition to live timing and public results.
Field notes
The project packages meet administration and race-day capture into one Docker Compose deployment, combining a FastAPI backend with a SvelteKit frontend. Its timing model uses a single bib-driven entry stream to resolve finishes to the appropriate race, while the hardware layer names LLRP RFID readers and starting-gun integrations. The stated operating range is deliberately practical: organizers can run the stack on a laptop or carry it to the course on a Raspberry Pi.
