The project uses recordings from the Internet Archive’s Understanding 9/11 television collection, arranging CNN material from the first reports onward and offering selected international channels near the same historical point. Its replay clock is calculated from archive metadata and starts at approximately 8:48 a.m. Eastern, so alignment is explicitly approximate. The page also links broadcast transcripts and a historical timeline, while retaining the original broadcasts’ uncertainty, interruptions, and early reports that were later corrected.
