Strata describes a location-based workflow that reads a place at the instant a user presses “dig,” then combines records into a single narrative ordered from recent history toward older layers. The site says its source pile includes heritage registers, archives, encyclopedias, and more than 100 million records. Results are presented as roughly seven-minute reads and can be filed by place in an offline journal, with examples spanning a square in Sintra, a bus stop in Leeds, and an ordinary street corner.
