Boutis & Patchwork: the quilt calculator with a point of view
A French-language textile toolkit that calculates quilt pieces, fabric requirements, backing, batting, margins, and printable cutting plans.
Field notes
The toolkit begins with a finished dimension and works backward through seam allowances, usable fabric width, joins, fabric direction, and purchase surplus. It separates geometric consumption from the maker’s safety margin, making the assumptions inspectable rather than hiding them in one percentage. The site also lists fourteen original patterns and identifies examples by finished size, including a 12 × 12 cm moulin coaster, a 45 × 45 cm indigo cushion, and a 35 × 48 cm table runner. A4 plans are presented as workshop sheets, not replacements for fabric testing.
