BeamVec: a structural-steel takeoff workspace
An independent Windows desktop tool for preparing structural-steel beam markups from vector PDFs, with configurable estimating columns and local processing.
Field notes
BeamVec describes a local Windows workflow for opening vector PDFs, preparing beam markups, reviewing proposed members and connections in Bluebeam, and applying classifications after review. Its configuration layer supports custom estimating columns, field mapping, left/right or paired B-B ends, and styles associated with PowerFab and SDS2. The displayed build is 0.5.0a1; Windows packaging, Bluebeam round-trip validation, a public repository, and an installer are still in progress.
