datstr: Pools Should Pool Rewards, Not Blocks
A decentralized mining-share protocol for Bitcoin and a BLAKE2b fork, using signed shares and direct coinbase payouts instead of custodial pool rewards.
Field notes
The protocol places block construction at a gateway beside the miner’s own node, keeping templates, transaction lists, and merkle branches on that side of the system. Shares package the header, coinbase, and merkle branches with a worker signature, while a coordinator’s signed acknowledgement acts as a receipt. The page lists Bitcoin mainnet, Bitcoin testnet4, and BLAKE2b-based chains, and says Stratum v1 miners can connect unchanged. It is labeled Draft 0.0.1 and currently points toward a first pooled block, delegation, and browser mining.
