HeadOrbit Turns AirPods Head Tracking Into a Mac Utility
An open-source macOS menu bar app that uses AirPods head tracking to blur the screen when you look away and remind you when you slouch.
Field notes
The app establishes a personal baseline through one-click calibration, then compares live head angles against a tunable threshold and delay. Its two visible behaviors are deliberately narrow: blur the full screen while leaving the menu bar reachable, and issue a slow posture prompt that can be snoozed with Esc. The project supports macOS 14+, works with one earbud, and identifies which earbud is streaming. The source is presented as a few hundred lines of Swift under the MIT license.
