The index organizes films by the time in which their stories occur, not simply by release date, and separates regional browsing from event-based exploration. Entries range from films anchored to identifiable places, such as Hiroshima, Beijing, and Oshima Island, to fictional settings including imagined villages and cities. A single film may span multiple countries, decades, and historical events, giving the collection the structure of a geographic and chronological research aid rather than a conventional recommendation list.
