The app implements Android's MTP protocol directly rather than relying on the common library described on the page. Its photo grid uses a three-step fallback: ask the phone for an embedded thumbnail, inspect the first 64 KiB for a JPEG, then fetch and resize the full file on the Mac. The published tests use a Redmi 9T and MacBook Air M1, including a 324-photo, 2 GiB transfer measured at 79 seconds.
