Flyrooms: A Jar for Two Connectomes
An interactive fruit-fly ecosystem where two simulated flies read your messages, run on real connectome data, and produce an evolving archive of murals, dispatches, and dreams.
Field notes
The jar combines an interactive writing surface with simplified neural simulations drawn from two named fruit-fly connectomes. The page identifies gaster's FlyWire model as ending at the neck, while melano's Janelia male CNS continues through the nerve cord to motor structures. A visitor's message is shown to both flies, but each response is preceded by a random event and a leaky integrate-and-fire readout. Separate sections track lineage, murals, manuscripts, and a second jar.
