The archive combines place-based research with a record of movement: its migration section follows labour schemes, sponsorship routes, a chartered fleet and ports at either end. The homepage reports coverage of 212 places in 18 countries, alongside 242 documents and 264 photographs. Its community-life index extends beyond institutional history into churches, schools, sport, theatre, work, family life and food, preserving the ordinary texture around the routes and sites.
