Singapore Electronics Market, counted building by building
A data report counts the electronics shops OpenStreetMap records in Singapore and shows how many fall inside named buildings.

- Readers comparing mapped retail patterns in Asia
- Worth noticing
- Overlapping building shapes go to the smallest building, while 18 additional measured buildings remain unlisted.
Field notes
The dataset is drawn from OpenStreetMap’s country polygon at admin_level 2, dated 2026-09-26; a building enters the table only when it is named and contains at least two counted shops. Overlapping building shapes are resolved by assigning each shop to the smallest polygon, while unnamed buildings are excluded, leaving 161 shops that cannot be separated into street locations versus unnamed interiors. The page says its MRT-distance calculation was removed after city-centre and airport results failed basic checks.
