One device selects files or a folder, then shares a five-digit code or QR link; the receiving device can set a destination folder or use the browser’s default downloads. The page says same-Wi-Fi transfers normally travel directly between devices, while automatic server relay is a fallback capped at 500 MB per session. That fallback is explicitly less private: the page says its temporary copy is not encrypted at rest and is deleted after 20 minutes.
