Huh? turns two iPhones into a live listening link
An iPhone beta routes a nearby speaker’s voice to the listener’s hearing aids, AirPods, or earbuds.
- For
- People who miss conversation in noise or distance
- Worth noticing
- The beta pairs phones over shared Wi-Fi or Personal Hotspot with a six-digit code; the page says audio is not recorded.
Field notes
The main setup uses two iPhones: one runs as a nearby microphone, while the listener’s phone connects over shared Wi-Fi or Personal Hotspot with a six-digit pairing code. The listening phone routes audio through its existing Bluetooth output, including compatible hearing aids, AirPods, or other earbuds. A version 1.4 section also describes a one-phone mode, but says hearing-aid use in that mode is still being tested; range and performance depend on surroundings and devices.
