Plapper turns a child’s first words into a dated record
An iPhone app for recording a child’s words, tracking vocabulary growth, and keeping notes or audio of how those words sounded.
- For
- Parents documenting a young child’s spoken vocabulary
- Worth noticing
- It explicitly avoids norm tables; optional shared access uses an account and stores data on servers in Frankfurt.
Field notes
Caregivers can enter words individually or as lists, then add dates, pronunciation notes, and optional recordings; the app presents vocabulary totals and additions from the previous 30 days, with the child’s age shown when a birth date is entered. The page also lists widgets, Siri and Control Center capture, CSV export, and 20 prepared languages. It says solo use stays on-device without an account; inviting relatives uses an account and Frankfurt-hosted servers.
