Tonehole brings together instrument fingering charts, transposed scales, tunings, public-domain scores, and practice tools.

Landing page captured for the 2026-10-01 issue.

For: Instrumentalists practicing or checking written pitches
Worth noticing: The listed clarinet charts cover E3 to C7 and include alternate fingerings; scale pages offer notation, audio, and MIDI/MusicXML.

Field notes

The reference material includes instrument-specific details rather than only generic chart labels: clarinet coverage is listed from E3 to C7 with alternate fingerings, while flute charts specify three octaves, a B-foot, and gizmo key. Scale pages are described as providing notation, fingerings beneath each note, audio playback, and free MIDI/MusicXML. The homepage also lists folk tunes with playback and links to historic recordings, method books, and museum objects.
