Groundproof is a location-checking service for people monitoring property construction in Nigeria from abroad.

Landing page captured for the 2026-10-05 issue.

For: Diaspora owners monitoring Nigerian property builds
Worth noticing: The site says NIPOST confirms a building and its recorded use, not ownership, and acknowledges that phone location can be faked.

Field notes

The workflow separates the owner’s website view from the on-site person’s app: the app takes the photo, records location and time, and checks the location against NIPOST data. The page displays example distances, including one check-in flagged 1.4km from the building. Its caveats matter: NIPOST records may need correction, bare plots may lack postcodes, and the service does not establish legal ownership.
