A collection of browser-playable instruments, each built around an unusual sound and its story.

Landing page captured for the 2026-10-05 issue.

For: Curious listeners and people exploring unusual instruments
Worth noticing: The page distinguishes playable entries from works in progress and private previews, including a Telharmonium model with no surviving recording.

Field notes

Each entry pairs a sound with a compact historical explanation, then labels its availability: playable, private preview, coming soon, or in the workshop. The page names several input methods, including MIDI keyboards. Its Telharmonium entry notes that no recording survives and describes the proposed browser instrument as a working model, not a recovered recording.
