Retro Field Guide: the sourced home-arcade catalog
A browsable comparison guide to home arcade machines, cabinet kits, controls, and plans, organized by cabinet type and game.
- For
- People comparing home arcade machines or planning a DIY cabinet
- Worth noticing
- The catalog separates 93 prebuilt machines from 30 DIY listings and marks prices with confidence levels.
Field notes
The catalog divides prebuilt machines by cabinet form and keeps DIY kits, controls, and plans in separate paths; visitors can also browse by game or maker. Its homepage shows individual listings with observed price, availability, player count, cabinet and screen details where supplied, confidence, and check dates. Research pages explain how listings are checked and how licensing labels are assigned; the homepage says unstated licensing remains unknown. Handhelds and consoles are identified as future sections, not live catalog coverage.
