Telegram Safety’s off-site verification flow
Credibility concern recorded. The source reference remains available for verification and correction.
A Telegram-branded page asks visitors for their phone number and a verification code it says will arrive in the Telegram app.
- For
- Telegram account holders assessing a suspicious verification page
- Worth noticing
- It claims a six-digit code will arrive in Telegram, then says the account is protected once the visitor confirms it.
Field notes
The visible sequence asks for a phone number linked to Telegram, a purported six-digit code, and confirmation; it also shows a resend countdown and a change-number option. Its copy escalates from “URGENT ALERT” to a completion screen claiming the account is protected. The supplied extract does not establish that any code is actually sent, how entered data is handled, or that Telegram operates this domain.
