Editorial interest 84/100 Selection signal · not a rating of the site

An interactive map of 20,844 asteroids pairs orbital and composition data with estimated round-trip mission costs, times, and return scenarios.

Landing page captured for the 2026-10-16 issue.
For
Asteroid-resource and mission-planning explorers
Worth noticing
The plotted orbits use two-body Kepler motion and ignore planetary perturbations; the page also says most bodies lack spectral classes.

Field notes

The plotted set combines all bodies with a Tholen or SMASSII class and main-belt or Mars-crossing bodies over 7 km; only 2,174 of the 20,844 have spectral classes. Motion is calculated from JPL elements at a June 2026 epoch using two-body Kepler orbits, while the planner compares selectable craft, product, and Earth-arrival scenarios.
