DigUp is a desktop app for searching local photos, PDFs, documents, audio, video, and optional code with natural-language queries.

Landing page captured for the 2026-10-17 issue.

For: People searching local media and documents by meaning
Worth noticing: Results are grouped by modality and can open at a PDF page, video timestamp, audio minute, or code location.

Field notes

The page presents a workflow built around folders the user chooses: index them, describe remembered content, then inspect grouped matches. Its examples are unusually concrete, including a pet clause in a lease and a video frame matched at 0:12. The site lists Apple Silicon with macOS 14 or later for the Mac build, while Windows and Linux releases carry beta labels.
