AOPEDEX maps endocrine-disruption predictions across species
A research database connects chemical activity and species traits to traceable, AOP-based predictions about endocrine-disruption mechanisms.
- For
- Ecotoxicology researchers choosing species and mechanisms to test
- Worth noticing
- The current display covers 756 species; the project reports predictions for 123 of 138 threatened species, including 38 at high confidence.
Field notes
The workflow combines chemical activity from ToxCast with receptor-pocket conservation and related-species proxies, then places predictions within an adverse outcome pathway event network. Users are instructed to choose a species and chemical and can trace highlighted events, relationships, and receptor-intervention effects; the page also links downloadable chemical and species directories. The displayed panel spans eight vertebrate groups, while the project says its predictions can extend to species lacking direct toxicology or receptor-sequence data.
