NetCreature2: Find them in the static
An in-development creature game where players scan web addresses, recover the creatures that answer, and coach them in timed fights.
- For
- Players drawn to creature-collection games and signal folklore
- Worth noticing
- The scanner reads a web address’s text without visiting it; the same address produces the same creature every time.
Field notes
The scanner uses a web address as input, reads its text without visiting the site, and produces a repeatable creature: the page says the same address always yields the same result. Recruitment can be peaceful or combative, but the address is then closed for good. Battles run on a clock; players choose both a move and a tone, with harsher orders gaining obedience at the cost of the creature eventually stopping listening. The project labels itself in development, with Windows first and mobile planned.
