Intrude: The Spare-Phone Security Camera
Intrude turns an unused Android phone into a motion-triggered camera that stores recordings locally.
Field notes
Intrude uses a spare Android phone as both camera and processing device: frames are compared locally, movement creates a clip, and the recording remains in the phone’s History area. The workflow includes a pre-motion buffer, so footage can show what preceded the trigger. The free tier includes background watching, alerts, an alarm, and single-clip saving or sharing, while Pro adds detection zones, people/animal/vehicle filtering, 1080p and 4K capture, and batch library backup.
